Stop Work Order Removal & Rescission

A Stop Work Order can halt all work or only the prohibited portion of a project. Work should not resume until the responsible agency has formally rescinded or modified the order.

What This Service Covers

In NYC, DOB distinguishes full and partial Stop Work Orders. For work-without-permit SWOs, DOB states work cannot resume until a permit has been issued and the SWO has been rescinded.

Do not resume early

Working against an active order can trigger additional penalties.

Permit alone is not enough

A permit does not automatically rescind an existing SWO.

Reinspection is usually critical

The issuing unit must verify the cited unsafe or unpermitted condition has been addressed.

Have an active property issue?

Send the property address, notice/violation/permit information and any available photos or agency documents. We will identify the immediate deadline and scope the next paid phase before detailed technical work begins.
