NYC After Hours Variance (AHV) for Construction Work

Construction outside normal NYC hours generally requires an After Hours Variance. The filing has to match the underlying job and should be planned before the intended work date.

What This Service Covers

DOB requires AHVs for construction before 7:00 AM, after 6:00 PM, or on Saturday/Sunday and says applications should be filed at least two business days before the first intended work day.

Underlying permit/job matters

The AHV is tied to authorized construction activity.

Noise rules still apply

DEP construction-noise requirements and mitigation planning may also apply.

Late planning causes delays

AHVs have advance submission deadlines and renewal rules.

Have an active property issue?
