Record research drives the application
Historic permits, I-cards, plans and occupancy evidence can determine whether the request is supportable.
A Letter of No Objection can be important when an older building has no Certificate of Occupancy or when proof of a legal use is needed from DOB records.
DOB states an LNO may be issued in certain situations where no CO is available or where the use shown in records differs but remains within the same applicable use/occupancy framework and egress/occupant load are substantially unchanged.
Historic permits, I-cards, plans and occupancy evidence can determine whether the request is supportable.
Some conditions require an Alteration-CO rather than a letter.
No private company can guarantee an LNO will be issued.
